  • How do I create a new user?
    To create a new user, click on the "Log in" button on the main menu. Under "Or create a new name:" enter a username and press "Register."
  • Why do I need to make my own account?

    Geography Insight tracks your progress and personalizes the learning experience to your individual learning style. To take full advantage of this feature you must have your own account to work from. If too people use the same account, it will confuse the algorithm and you won't learn as quickly.

  • How do I switch to a different country?

    Press the "Main Menu" button in the upper right-hand corner. This will take you back to the main menu, where you can choose a different country. Your progress on each country will be saved, so you can switch back and fourth at will.

  • What are average accuracy and average response time?

    We use these stats to track your performance. Average accuracy is how many problems you answered correctly out of the last 10 problems. Average reaction time is, on average, how quickly you answered the last 10 problems.

  • When am I done with a region?

    This app employs a principle of "learning to criteria," which means you don't finish practicing a task until you learn the very material well. To finish a region, you must name every country within a certain speed. The app will tell you when you've mastered a region.

  • Do I have to do this all in one sitting?

    No! This app operates on a principle known as "spaced learning," which means it's better for your long-term memory to spread out your practice. Use this app for 15-20 minutes every day, or whenever you have a spare moment.

  • Can I still practice a region after I've mastered it?

    Once you master a region, you should know it pretty well. But if you'd like a refresher, you can create a new account and try again there.

  • The app isn't working / something's going wrong. What should I do?
